Hathidagar, A New Tourism Zone:

Uttrakhand government taking a great iniciative for tourism in Jim Corbett national park. They announced a new zone opening in jim Corbett park introducing a name of Hathidagar Zone. which is in the under of Tehri western division range.

 As an announcement of opening of this zone is 07 march 2024. This zone inaugurated by MLA Diwan Singh Bisht and Kumaun’s Chief Conservator of Forests officer Prasanna Kumar Patro.

This zone has an area of 35 sq. km and the entry gate is nearby Maldhan village which is 5km from the Ramnagar to Kashipur NH 121.

Animals and Birds in Hathidagar Zone:

There are various kind of wild animals like Tiger, leopard, elephants, jackal, deers and various kind of species like Drongo, Crested Serpent Eagle, the Black-winged Kite, the Indian Shikra, the Himalayan Grey-headed Fishing Eagle, Himalayan Vultures and Lesser and Greater Spotted Eagles. Other resident birds (not very commonly found) are Hawk-Eagles, the Crested Honey Buzzard and the Black Eagle.

In this zone Hathidagar tourist can opt for thrilling jeep safaris  enjoy 4×4 open jeep safari at morning and afternoon. In the morning and afternoon 25-25 jeeps are allowed for safari.  Hathi Dagar zone, offering glimpses of wildlife in their natural habitat and unraveling the secrets of the jungle.

Core and Eco-tourism Zone:

In jim Corbett national park tourist always confused about the core and eco-tourism zones. Now tourist have a right to know about which zones are in core area and which zone are in Eco-tourism zone.

Core zones of jim Corbett park like Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, Garjia, Durga-Devi, Sonanadi are in core area of Jim Corbett Park.

Eco-tourism zones like Phato, Sitawani, Hathidagar and Pakhro are in eco-tourism zones of Jim Corbett National Park.
